Warning: Some SPOILERS ahead!
Reason #1: World’s Most Giant Wrestler
Do you remember the JD and Turk’s World’s Most Giant Doctor from the (world’s greatest?) TV Show ‘Scrubs’? Well, in the opening match of the DDT4 tag team tournament, Trent? And Chuck Taylor combined to form the World’s Most Giant Wrestler, using a giant trench coat from under the ring. When Chuck asked Trent? To go get their secret weapon, this is not what I was expecting. I mean that in a good way!
Reason #2: Squat Challenge
In The F##king Machines’ match against PPRay, Elgin and Cage took turns at performing squats while holding both opponents. Elgin’s squats followed by a Samoan Fall Away slam was excellent!
Oh, and the following destruction of Avalon was als pretty great.
Reason #3: The Toughest (only?) Female Wrestler in PWG
Candice LeRae may not have been victorious in her match with Joey Ryan against Cole and Steen, but man is she impressive. Steen and Cole knocked the crap out of her, but she took it like a champ and hit some fantastic high flying moves of her own. My favourite Candice move has got to be the Ballplex. Looks…painful.
Reason #4: “All Night Long”
Ricochet. Rich Swann. AR Fox. ACH. All in one match. It was as nuts as you could have expected. But the best part was the crowds “All night long” sing-a-long.
Side note: How many damn Ace Crushers were delivered in this match?
Reason #5: Bryan Cage Lionsault
That’s correct, exploding out of his own body Bryan Cage hit a Jericho-esque Lionsault. HE SHOULD NOT BE DOING THAT!
Couldn’t find the Lionsault so here’s a discus lariat!
Reason #6: 4 mans #1 Contender Match
Chris Hero, Kyle O’Reilly, Johnny Gargano and Drake Younger absolutely destroyed each other for the opportunity of facing Adam Cole for the PWG title. Highlights included:
- 4 way test of strength. Winner: Hero
- 4 way submission. Winner: nobody.
This match is a great example of how to do a 4-way.
