WARNING: Some SPOILERS to follow!

This year’s New Japan Cup wasn’t the strongest new Japan event that they’ve had recently, but it did have consistently good wrestling and a couple of really great matches spread over the three shows.

Well then, let’s get to the good stuff!

2014 New Japan Cup Winner: Shinsuke Nakamura

Nakamura defeated Bad Luck Fale in the finals of the Cup to become the 2014 New Japan Cup winner, earning the right to choose which title he would like to challenge for; Okada’s IWGP World Heavyweight title, or Tanahashi’s IWGP Intercontinental title. From the GIF above, it’s pretty clear who he chose to challenge.

Let’s take a look at Nakamura’s road to becoming the 2014 New Japan Cup winner:

Round 1:  vs. Davey Boy Smith Jr.

Quarterfinals: vs. Prince Devitt

Semifinals: vs. Minoru Suzuki

Finals: vs. Bad Luck Fale

That’s a whole mess of Boma Ye’s!

YEAOH~!!
