In this column we’re going to take a look at some of the greatest wrestlers ever to use the “King” moniker. And I don’t simply mean Kind of the Ring winners, though there will be a couple, I mean wrestler’s who truly embraced the “king” name and what comes with it. This is by no means a comprehensive list. It’s just me talking about wrestlers I like who used the “king” moniker.
Number 5: King Booker
Booker T won the King of the Ring tournament in 2006 by defeating Bobby Lashley (with the help of Fit Finlay) at Judgement Day. As King Booker, he went on to win the World Heavyweight Championship by defeating Rey Mysterio at the Great American Bash. He also formed King Booker’s Court, a stable including Sir William Regal and Sir Finally, along with King Booker’s wife, Queen Sharmell.
