One More Reason to Love Minoru Suzuki

DDT RYOGOKU PETER PAN, August 17 2014.

  • Sanshiro Takagi & Jun Kasai vs. Minoru Suzuki & Michael Nakazawa.
  • Super Long/Awesome Suzuki Entrance.
  • Chair Tower.
  • Space Rocket Themed Bicycle.
  • Betrayal.

It may not have been the most technical of matches, or even the best match on the show, which also featured New Japan stars Hiroshi Tanahashi and Kota Ibushi, but it was easily the most fun and chaotic match I’ve seen for a while.

Even before the bell rung, Suzuki’s makes this really long ring entrance, which may sound boring, but is super great. Then once the match gets going, it’s utter chaos. From the tower of chairs in the ring, to the use of a space rocket styled bicycle as possibly the greatest foreign object in a match. It’s hilarious action from start to finish.  And to top it all off, the match actually tells a nice little story, culminating in Suzuki switching sides towards the end.

Oh Suzuki what will you do next?

More bicycle based wrestling, please!
