A Match Most Worth Seeing: Masato Yoshino & Shachihoko BOY vs. Jimmy Susumu & Jimmy Kagetora, Dragon Gate, April 9, Korakuen Hall

Masato Yoshino & Shachihoko BOY (c) vs Jimmy… by JAHMAL1111
-Car Crash wrestling at it’s finest

Dragon Gate matches often get described as car crash style. It’s guys going at a hundred miles an hour, hitting a thousand finishers and kicking out each time, bumping like crazy and selling like Superman. It’s a lot of fun, but sometimes it can be completely to watch, so I can’t even imagine how the wrestlers must feel. In some matches so much happens at such a fast pace that when it’s over, all I’m doing is smiling, but all I remember is a blur of wrestlers.

Yoshino & Shachihoko BOY vs. Jimmys Susumu & Kagetora for the Open the Twin Gate titles on April 9, 2015 is car crash wrestling done right. You could say done to perfection even. The match doesn’t start out a million miles a minute. Instead, it begins at a more methodical, you could say normal pace. Of course, before too long things pick up. I mean, with Yoshino involved, there’s no doubt they would. What makes this match especially good is that while you could still describe it typical Dragon Gate car crash style, it’s doesn’t take it too far. Yes, there are finishers being kicked out of and a lot of nearfalls towards the finish, but not to the extent where you wish the match would just end, like I felt with BxB Hulk vs. Jimmy Susumu from a few shows back. Hulk kicked out of Susumu’s lariat at least ten-thousand times before finally putting Susumu away.  It became almost comical, and could have ended about five minutes earlier and been a much more satisfying match. In the case of  Yoshino & Shachihoko BOY vs. Jimmys Susumu & Kagetora, the pacing and match length was near perfect, the last five or ten minutes were heart stopping, and there was no burnt out feeling when the match ended. Just bliss.

It’s also great to see Shachihoko BOY become less of a pushover, and more of never-give-up underdog that’s all heart. His development as performer is really fun to watch.

I can’t recommend this match any more highly. It’s tag team wrestling and classic DG car crash style at its best. ALL OF THE STARS!
